Erythematous Rashes - Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Erythrasma Rashes is most commonly found in folds of skin. Erythrasma Rashes is more common in warm climates and among those who are overweight or have diabetes. The incidence is higher in black people. The incidence of erythrasma increases with age, but no age group is immune to the disease. The youngest patient reported to have this condition is a 1-year-old infant. Both are equally affected; however, the crural form is more common in men. These include abscess formation , intravascular catheter–related infections , primary bacteremia , peritoneal catheter–related infections , endocarditis , and pyelonephritis. Less commonly, erythrasma can be found in the buttock crevice or in the folds underneath the breasts. In certain individuals, the infection can become widespread and can involve the trunk, arms, and legs. Erythrasma can be treated with antiseptic or topical antibiotic. Including erythromycin or tetracycline and usually responds promptly. Antibacterial soap can be used to prevent recurrence. Erythrasma Rashes may recur in 6 to 12 months, necessitating a second treatment. Gently scrubbing the lesions with antibacterial soap may help the patches go away. Prescription erythromycin gel applied to the skin also works very well.
