Chemical PeelChemical Peel is a procedure is another way to remove wrinkles. It is especially effective on blond, blue-eyed women with fair skin and fine lines around their faces because they are less likely to develop pigmentation problems. A chemical peel involves the application of a caustic substance to the skin which causes the skin to burn. It removes the outer layers of skin and relies on the deeper layers to resurface to the top (that is the normal action of the skin-to rebuild new layers). The advantage of a chemical peel is that it lasts longer than collagen (it can last for ten years). However, it has other drawbacks. The recuperation from a chemical peel is lengthy. Your face scabs, so you won't be going out publicly for two or three weeks (whereas after a collagen injection you can go back to work the next day). Chemical peels can depigment your skin (change its color); they can change the body's ability to tan and can leave a very clear demarcation line where the chemical peel stops and where the untreated skin begins. Moreover, peels don't help acne scars (whereas collagen does)
