Background/Origin: Marjoram is a Labiate and is native to the Mediterranean area. The oil is extracted by steam distillation of the leaves and the flowering tops of the plant. Marjoram is a herb used in cooking, and is closely linked

How Marjoram is extracted: Steam Distilled

Description: Thus popular perennial plant is one of the calssic culinary herbs and is grown world-wide. The amber-colured essence is extracted by steam-distillation from the fresh and dried leaves and flowering tops. Its warm and slightly spicy aroma is often used in masculine fragrances.

Color: Clear with a Tinge of Yellow

Property: Antiseptic, analgesic, antiviral, antibacterial, antispasmodic, fungicidal, emmenagogue, conforting.

Uses of Marjoram essential oil: Inhalation and massage. It blends well with bergamot, lavender and rosemary. In bath and body oils, it gives a warm, relaxing feeling. Steam-inhaled or smoothed over the sinuses and temples, it can relieve colds.

Therapeutic Effects of using Marjoram: A warming agent, able to relieve spasm, it is particularly valuable for treating the nervous system. Use for anxiety and insmonia, but also for arthritis, asthma, bronchitis, circulatory problems, constipation, headaches, menstrual problems, muscular strains and rheumatism.


Safety & Precaution Instructions: DO NOT USE DURING PREGNANCY. Do not use in large amounts - can cause drowsiness and can dull the senses.
