Lyme Disease Symptoms

There are three stages of Lyme disease : early localized lyme disease, early disseminated lyme disease, and late persistent lyme disease.

Lyme Disease Symptom

• Fatigue or lack of energy, which is the most common symptom.
• Headache and stiff neck.
• Fever and chills.
• Muscle and joint pain.
• Swollen lymph nodes .

There are three stages of Lyme disease : early localized, early disseminated, and late persistent. Lyme Disease sign and symptoms are usually starts with flu-like feelings of headache, stiff neck, fever, muscle aches, and fatigue. It is estimated that about 60% of light-skinned patients notice a unique enlarging rash, referred to as erythema migrans (EM), days to weeks after the bite. On dark-skinned people, this rash resembles a bruise. A rash occurring at other than the bite site in an indication of Disseminated Lyme Disease.

Head, Face, Neck Symptom of Lyme Disease

• Sore throat
• Pressure in Head
• Headache, mild or severe
• Tingling of nose

Eyes/Vision Symptom of Lyme Disease

• Pain in eyes, or swelling around eyes
• Oversensitivity to light

Ears/Hearing Symptom of Lyme Disease

• Buzzing in ears
• Pain in ears, oversensitivity to sounds

Respiratory and Circulatory Systems Symptom of Lyme Disease

• Chest pain
• Heart blockage
• Shortness of breath

No one will have all symptoms but if many are present serious consideration must be given by any physician to Lyme as the possible culprit. The circular rash is usually a sure sign of Lyme disease, especially when it appears during the summer months.

Other rare early symptom of chronic lyme disease

• Testicular pain or Pelvic pain
• Unexplained menstrual irregularity
• Change in bowel function, constipation
• Shortness of breath, cough
• Joint pain or swelling
• Muscle pain or cramps
• Neck creaks and cracks, neck stiffne
• Dizziness, poor balance, increased motion sickness
• Confusion, difficulty in thinking, difficulty in concentrating, difficulty with sticking with task
• Difficulty with speech
• Exaggerated symptoms or worse hangover from alcohol
• Hypersensitive olfactory organ (sensitive to the slightest odours / smells)
• Enlarged lymph glands
• Changes in vision
• Poor coordination/ataxia
• Anxiety
• Difficulty swallowing
• Nausea/vomiting
• Changes in cerebral blood flow/brain waves
