Homemade Mouthwash

A Mouthwashe will help to eliminate bad breath and promote overall mouth and gum health. There are many Mouthwashes and toothpastes available in the market that will refresh your breadth but you can make your own Homemade Mouthwash at home easily.

Here are few recipes for making Homemade Mouthwash -

1. Mix 2 ounces of Water, 1/4 Teaspoon of baking soda or Sea Salt, 1 drop of Pure Peppermint Oil, and 1 drop of Tea Tree oil. This Homemade mouthwash recipe leaves a great refreshing minty taste in your mouth and helps prevent bad breathe.

2. Another simple mouthwash can be made with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). Mix 1/2 teaspoon of the baking soda in an 8-ounce glass of water, swish, and spit it out. The baking soda neutralizes acidic bacteria in your mouth, which will freshen your breath.

3. BASIC ALCOHOL FREE HERBAL HOMEMADE MOUTHWASH FORMULA

Make this strong antibacterial infusion using antiseptic plant materials such as cloves, rosemary, and myrrh to keep your breath fresh and your mouth healthy. Infuse the herbs overnight and it's ready to use by morning.

INGREDIENTS

1 ounce cloves or powdered myrrh OR 2 to 4 ounces goldenseal or rosemary
2 cups boiling water

1. Place the plant materials in a pint mason jar and cover with the boiling water.

4. Boil one cup of water, and remove from the stove.

Add two tablespoons of angelica seeds (available at health food stores), and a dash of either peppermint oil or lemon verbana;

Let the mixture sit for ten minutes, then strain off and discard the solid stuff, saving the liquid. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator.

5. An Effective Homemade Mouthwash Recipe

Mix 1/2 teaspoon glycerin, 1/8 teaspoon mild neutral soap powder, a tablespoon of calcium carbonate (often called chalk of Paris White), 1/2 teaspoon gum arabic (available at health food stores) and a couple of drops of peppermint oil. To this mixture add 1/8 cup of water. Heat and stir for five minutes until the mix has achieved a pastelike appearance. By the way, the glycerin is the sweetener; the soap powder the cleanser; calcium carbonate the abrasive; gum arabic the emulsifier, and you might imagine what the peppermint is for. You'll then be able to make a year's supply of paste for about a tenth of what you'd pay for a market brand.

4. Homemade Recipe for Rosemary-Mint Mouthwash

2 1/2 cups distilled or mineral water
1 tsp fresh mint leaves
1tsp rosemary leaves
1 tsp anise seeds
Boil the water, add herbs and seeds, infuse for 20 minutes. Cool, strain and use as a gargle/mouthwash. If you wish to make up a larger quantity, double or triple the recipe then add 1 tsp of tincture of myrrh as a natural preservative.

5. Homemade Recipe for Spearmint Mouthwash

6 ounces water
2 ounces vodka
4 teaspoons liquid glycerine
1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
10-15 drops Spearmint essential oil
Boil water and vodka, add glycerine and aloe vera gel. Remove from the heat, let cool slightly. Add spearmint oil, shake well. Pour into bottle, cap tightly.
