Natural Homemade Lip Balm Recipe


A lip balm is usually more effective than using a lipstick. Unike lipsticks, lip Balms are made with out the use of animal fats. It also means you can protect your lip without coloring them as well. Here are few natural recipes for making Homemade Lip Balm recipe -

Natural Homemade Lip Balm Recipe using olive oil, petroleum jelly, beeswax -

2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon petroleum jelly
1/2 to 1 teaspoon beeswax
You'll need a small empty glitter/gloss pot to put your new concoction in. Wash out first.

Melt ingredients until liquified. Don't use a pan over an oven- you'll have to scrape your gorgeous new lip gloss out! The best way is to put everything in the pot and melt down in microwave. Don't put the lid on! All you need to do is put everything in for 20 secs, take out and stir, place back in for 20-40 secs, take out carefully, and leave until desired thickness. YAY! You've made a best natural homemade lip balm!!

Another best Natural Homemade Lip Balm Recipe using vaseline, cherry juice -

TAKE: Vaseline
Cherry Juice
For extra sparkle, glitter, shimmer powder or  loose pink eye-shadow
Empty glitter/gloss/shadow/shimmer/whatever pot

Take vaseline and fill almost to the top of the pot.
Squeeze cherries (you'll only need a few) into the vaseline and mix until desired colour. If you love glam, add your shimmer powder/ pretty lip gloss coloured loose eye-shadow. Finished! And the cherry gloss smells great!! You can melt everything down in the microwave if you want a lighter gloss.


Fresh Peppermint Lip Balm Recipe

2 T. petroleum jelly
1 tsp. beeswax
10-14 drops peppermint essential oil

Melt petroleum jelly, and then add beeswax. When melted, remove from heat and add peppermint essential oil. Pour into a container and cool.

Apricot & Lemon Lip Balm Recipe

A delicious protective and healing gloss especially good for chapped lips.

1 tsp.  Beeswax 
1 tsp. Apricot kernel oil 
1 tsp. Calendula oil 
Few drops essential oil of lemon or orange

Melt the beeswax.  Add the apricot and calendula oils, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat while stirring and when partly cooled, add the essential oils. Store in a small glass pot.

Homemade Cocoa Mint Lip Balm Recipe

25 ounces Beeswax
33 ounces Shea Butter
33 ounces Regular Cocoa Butter
40 ounces Sweet Almond Oil
2 mL Vitamin E Acetate
10 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

Weigh all ingredients, then melt the oils and Beeswax in microwave. Add the essential oil and pour into prepared containers. Let them cool, then cap.

Make a natural homemade lip balm using a pre-certifed or pre-made lip balm base.

1. Add a few spoons of the pre certified lip balm base into a clean bowl and place in a microwave on a low to medium heat. Heat in very short bursts as the lip balm melts very quickly indeed.

2. When fully melted, add any FLAVOUR oils you.

3. Place your pots onto a tray and spoon the mixture into them. Place into the fridge for 20 minutes to firm up and place the lids firmly on. Decorate with a label, a tiny bow or create your own art work for the lid.
