Concealers

Concealers are a fast and effective way to disguise blemishes, shadows, scars and red veins, so your skin looks perfect. Concealer are the ideal way to cover a multitude of sins. They are a concentrated form of foundation with a very high pigment, so they offer complete coverage to problem areas.

How to apply concealer

Make-up artists argue as to whether concealer should be applied before or after foundation - applying it after foundation is best, as it's only applied to specific areas, and theses would be disturbed when the foundation was being applied. If you are after a light make-up effect, apply concealer directly onto clean skin, then apply powder or all-in-one foundation over the top.

How to apply Stick Concealer

These are easy to apply as you can simply stroke them straight onto the skin. THey are most readily available type on the market. Some have quite a heavy and and thick consistency, so it's worth trying the samples in the shop before buying.

How to apply Cream Concealer

These usually come in a tube, with a sponge-tipped applicator. The coverage is not as thick as the stick type, but the finished effect is very natural.

How to apply Liquid Concealer

Again, these come in a tube. Just squeeze a tiny amount of the product onto your finger and smooth over the affected area. Look for the cream-to-powder formulations, which slick on like a cream and dry to a velvety powder finish.

Concealer makeup on skin and eye helps hiding various spots like blemishes, darkcircles, scars, red veins.

Apply concealer to hide spots and blemishes:

The ideal solution is to use medicated stick concealesr as this contains ingredients to deal with the pimple or blemish as well as cover it. Only apply the concealer exactly on the pimple, as it can be quite drying, and then smooth away the edges with a clean cotton bud.

Opt for a creamy stick concealer or a liquid one, as dry formulations will emphasize fine around eyes. If you are blending with your fingertips, use your ring finger, as this is the weakest finger on your hand and less likely to drag at the delicate skin around the eye. Can't find the right concealer? Don't worry simply do as many make-up artists do, use the slightly dryer bit of foundation that collects around the neck of the bottle and inside the cap. It is denser than your foundation, just the perfect consistency and colour for you to use as a concealer.
