Rosacea Treatment

Rosacea is a kind of inflammatory skin disease which usually causes redness, swelling on face and papules. Detached from face it also affects the areas such as eyes, scalp, neck, ears, chest and back. It first begins as a Flush or Blush and potentially causes redness in the center of the face and continues to affect the chin, cheeks, forehead and the nose.

Subsequently this happens a small blood vessels and pimples tend to appear on these affected areas. If these types of conditions emerge for a prolonged time then its better to consult your dermatologist. And it is also known as the adult acne.

About 13 million people in the United States have rosacea. It normally occurs in adults between the ages of 30 and 60. Women are more usually affected by mild to restrained rosacea than men, but the disorder is often more severe when it strikes men. Though rosacea can develop in people of any skin color, it slants to occur most frequently in people with fair skin.

As rosacea grows, other symptoms can develop such as permanent redness, red bumps (some with pus), red gritty eyes, burning and stinging sensations, small blood vessels visible near the surface of the skin, and in some advanced cases a bulbous nose. The disorder can be confused and co-exist with acne vulgaris and or seborrheic dermatitis.

Rosacea is a common skin condition which generally only affects the face and eyes. It usually commences as redness that looks like a blush across the nose, cheeks, chin or forehead. Long term Rosacea can develop Rhinophyma, an enlarged nose. It tends to occur mainly on the face, and betimes on the neck and upper chest.

About 50 percent of the time it involves the eye area as well. It tends to occur more frequently in people with fair skin, and may be an inherited trait. Though the following factors have not been well-researched, some people claim that one or more of them have enhanced their rosacea: heat (including hot baths), vigorous exercise, sunlight, wind, very cold temperatures, hot or spicy foods and drinks, alcohol consumption, menopause, emotional stress, and long-term use of topical steroids on the face.

Patients affected by pustules may premise they are caused by bacteria, but researchers have not established a link between rosacea and bacteria or other organisms on the skin, in the hair follicles, or elsewhere in the body.
