Rosacea Home Remedies

Rosacea is a disease which affects the skin on the face. It usually commences as redness that looks like a blush across the nose, cheeks, chin or forehead. As rosacea grows, other symptoms can develop such as semi-permanent erythema , telangiectasia (dilation of superficial blood vessels on the face), red domed papules (small bumps) and pustules, red gritty eyes, burning and stinging sensations, and in some advanced cases, a red lobulated nose ( rhinophyma ). The disorder can be confused and co-exist with acne vulgaris and/or seborrheic dermatitis.

Approximately 14 million Americans have this chronic skin condition. Though it's more common in women, men may develop more apparent signs of the disorder. It's not life-threatening, but it can affect your aspect and lower your self-esteem. Left untreated, rosacea tends to be progressive, that means it gets worse over time.

Rosacea is a chronic disorder which grows gradually and is featurised by flushing, blushing, redness, pimples, red gritty eyes, burning or stinging and, in some advanced cases, a bulbous nose. The tiny blood vessels in these areas enlarge (dilate) and conform more visible through the skin, appearing like tiny red lines (called telangiectasias).

Pimples may develop in rosacea that resemble teenage acne. In fact, rosacea is frequently erroneous for acne and is also referred to as acne rosacea. Rosacea happens in both men and women and, and though it may occur at any age, onset usually begins after the age of 30. People with rosacea normally find that certain lifestyle and environmental factors trigger a flare-up or enhance their individual conditions.

Common triggers involve certain foods (especially hot or spicy foods) and drink, (especially alcohol and caffeine), exercise, temperature variations, exposure to the sun, rain or wind, and stress. Rosacea reacts to treatment but cannot be cured. Left untreated, the redness becomes more permanent and the tiny blood vessels may become more visible. Pimples often develop and in a few people, especially older men, the nose may become bumpy, red and swollen.
