Homemade PH BalancerUse this cleansing, restoring rinse after your regular cleansing or after any or all of the skin treatments on this page. Apply with clean sterile cotton balls or gauze or simply splash on, being careful to avoid your eyes: Basic Skin pH Balancer 3 cups distilled water To use: moisten a cotton ball and use after cleansing to restore your skin's pH. Feels terrific! Various essential oils or herb infusions (in place of the plain distilled water) may be added to the basic balancer for fragrance and/or therapuedic value: For oily skin add one of the following oils or infusions: For dry, sensitive skin add one of the following oils or infusions: Violet Cream Cleanser Add 1 tsp violet petals to 1/4 cup cream (you can use milk if you have oily skin). Heat gently until nearly simmering, and keep heating gently until the milk is strongly violet-scented. Strain, bottle, keep in the fridge and use within three or four days. This makes a soothing oil-free cleanser. To use: Moisten face with lukewarm water. Rub cleanser over skin, and rinse well with cool water. Pat face dry.
