Amoebiasis (Amoebic Dysentry) - Amoebiasis Symptom, Causes, Treatment
Amoebiasis is a diseases which is related to intestine. Amoebiasis is caused by Entamoeba histolytica which leads to an intestinal infection causing severe diarrhoea.
Once amoebiasis has been diagnosed then a course of antibiotics can be provided to kill the parasite and to enable the affected person to make a full recovery within a month.
Symptoms are few or mild, with loose stools, mucus and blood which may lead to fulminating colitis.

- Abdominal (stomach) cramps
- Blood-stained stools
- Tenesmus (painful passage of stools)
- Foul smelling stools
- Slimy stools
